OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Country singer Carrie Underwood's debut album "Some Hearts" is enjoying brisk sales at retail outlets across the state.

The album went on sale Tuesday.

The Checotah native performed at the County Music Association awards in New York City Tuesday night, singing the ballad "Jesus Take the Wheel," the first single off the album.

Randy's M&M's in Edmond, the CD Warehouse in Shawnee and Hastings in Norman all reported brisk sales. In Checotah, the local Wal-Mart sold 500 copies in the first day of sales.
