OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ A California man who has spent years fighting to have the words ``under God'' removed from the Pledge of Allegiance shared his battle at an Oklahoma City event.

Michael Newdow of Sacramento was the keynote speaker yesterday at a celebration hosted by the American Civil Liberties Union of Oklahoma Foundation Bill of Rights.

Newdow says he's filing this week to get ``in God we trust'' taken off the front of US currency.

He says he desires to see the government adhere to the Constitution.

Newdow's arguments have been heard by the US Supreme Court. A recent ruling may send them back a second time to the high court.

In 2002, the Ninth US Circuit Court of Appeals agreed with Newdow that the pledge is unconstitutional when recited in public schools.

The Supreme Court dismissed the case last year, ruling Newdow had no legal standing because he didn't have custody of his daughter, in whose name the lawsuit was filed.
