New developments in the case of a Muskogee child accidentally shot Tuesday evening.

Muskogee Police say 18 month old CJ Kurtz had a second surgery Wednesday to repair his right shoulder and arm. The boy also has a chest tube to drain fluid from his lungs.

Investigators say CJ's dad accidentally shot the boy Tuesday afternoon while the dad was cleaning his gun. They expect the dad to be charged with a misdemeanor of reckless handling of a firearm.

The bullet from the 9mm handgun shattered the boy's arm bone and he'll likely need more surgeries in the future.
