Water rescues aren't that uncommon on the Arkansas River, but emergency landings, those are a different story.

The pilot of this small plane was flying in from Kansas when something went wrong and the pilot needed to make an emergency landing.

With no other options, he brought the plane down safely on a sandbar in the Arkansas River. With the problem apparently fixed, the pilot and his passenger were able to take off and continue on to Jones Riverside Airport.
