OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- About a dozen units of a southwest Oklahoma City apartment complex were heavily damaged in a fire.
Fire officials say a kitchen blaze that broke out Tuesday afternoon quickly spread, engulfing four Reding Square units in flames before firefighters arrived. There were no reports of injuries.
Battallion Chief Greg Lindsay says the fire wasn't reported immediately and one tenant tried to battle the flames herself before the blaze grew out of control.
He says two units were destroyed and two more were heavily damaged. Eight others had smoke and water damage.
Lindsay estimated damage to the complex at about $400,000.
