A memorial service honoring Rosa Parks is behind held in Muskogee. The late civil rights icon will be remembered during a service in Muskogee Wednesday afternoon.

The memorial was organized by the Reverend Ben Nobles, who met Parks at the March on Washington and Martin Luther King Junior's funeral. Nobles says Parks opened many doors in a non-violent way after she refused to give up her bus seat to a white passenger.

The memorial will be held at the Roxy Theater in Muskogee at 12 PM.
