The Congressional Black Caucus will hear from survivors of the 1921 Tulsa Race Riot this weekend. It will be led by California Congresswoman Maxine Waters in Tulsa.

Attempts by black and white property owners to recover damages from the riot have failed.

The 1921 riot resulted in a number of deaths; some figures put the death toll at about 300.

It destroyed a large portion of black neighborhoods on the city's northeast side.
