OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) Oklahoma school children can get a close-up look at Oklahoma's oil and gas heritage at a four-acre park on the grounds of the soon-to-open Oklahoma History Center.

The Devon Energy Oil and Gas Park was dedicated yesterday and will be completed in the next two years. It includes oil derricks from the state Capitol complex and a broad range of exploration and production equipment spanning a century of oil and gas operations in the state.

Governor Henry says the oil and gas industry is emblematic of the pioneering spirit that produced the Land Run of 1889.

Oklahoma City-based Devon Energy, the nation's largest independent producer, donated $500,000 toward construction.
