Another one of America's finest is back home tonight after a tour of duty in Iraq.

Family and friends packed Tulsa International Airport this evening to welcome back Lance Corporal Cody Backward.

He was greeted with signs of all sizes, flags, cheers, hugs, and tears.

Cody's mom couldn't be more proud.

Renee Scarsdale, proud Marine mom says, "Having him home here, my parents haven't been able to see him and my grandmother hasn't seen him in over a year, so it's just, it's wonderful."

Lance Corporal Backward is based out of Twenty-Nine Palms, California.

He's spent the past seven months in Camp Kalsu, Iraq.
