SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- Oklahoma City-based oil and gas producer Kerr-McGee says Hurricanes Rita and Katrina will cut its oil and gas production by nearly 3-million barrels of oil.
Kerr-McGee vice president Rick Buterbaugh says oil and gas output will be down about 1.2-million barrels in the third quarter and about 1.7-million in the fourth quarter.
Buterbaugh says crews are returning to company facilities in the Gulf Coast to continue inspecting them for damage before production resumes.
Kerr-McGee expects to be producing about 60-thousand barrels of oil a day by the end of the week. The number is about half the company's production before the hurricanes.
