US highway 169 construction in Tulsa brings shift in traffic for motorists this weekend.
Oklahoma Department of Transportation officials say motorists should use extreme caution when driving US-169 between I-44 and I-244 as there will be a shift in the pattern of driving lanes beginning Friday evening.
The shift is necessary for construction crews to put traffic onto the newly completed lanes on the eastside while work progresses on the westside lanes.
An additional change for drivers is the northbound US-169 ramp to Admiral Place will open as a result of this weekend's work. The eastbound I-244 ramp to southbound US-169 will be closed intermittently throughout the weekendfrom 7 p.m.
Work is weather-permitting and message boards will be in place. The entire project is anticipated to be complete Summer 2006.
