OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) The board building an American Indian Cultural Center southeast of downtown Oklahoma City votes to build the facility in separate phases.
The group currently has only $42 million of the $143 million needed to construct the project.
An additional $29 million already has been promised by the federal government.
All 39 Oklahoma tribes will be invited to participate in a November 1st ground-blessing to launch construction on the south bank of the Oklahoma River.
Plans call for all phases of the cultural center to be completed by 2009.
