Oklahoma City teacher selected Teacher of the Year

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Oklahoma City band and orchestra teacher Robyn Hilger is the 2006 Oklahoma Teacher of the Year.<br/><br/>Hilger teaches 6th through 8th graders and Belle Isle Enterprise Middle School.

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Oklahoma City band and orchestra teacher Robyn Hilger is the 2006 Oklahoma Teacher of the Year.

Hilger teaches 6th through 8th graders and Belle Isle Enterprise Middle School. She was named teacher of the year Tuesday by state Superintendent Sandy Garrett during a ceremony at the Oklahoma State Fair.

Hilger will represent Oklahoma in the National Teacher of the Year competition.

As Oklahoma Teacher of the Year she receives numerous prizes and awards, including cash prices, gasoline and use of a car for a year.
