WELLSTON, Okla. (AP) -- Eastbound lanes of the Turner Turnpike from Oklahoma City to Wellston have reopened after being closed for several hours Thursday morning because of an accident involving a tractor-trailer rig.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the rig ran off the roadway and the driver overcorrected, crossed both lanes of traffic then crashed and caught fire. Part of the wreckage spilled over the concrete divider and one westbound lane was also closed for a time.
The driver of the rig is identified as Lance Baker of Fort Worth, Texas, and is hospitalized in Oklahoma City in stable condition with a leg injury.
