The Tulsa area has gotten its first good taste of rain in a couple of weeks. The storms, caught on the News on 6 Skycam network, brought a lot of lightning, heavy rains, and cooler temperatures.
The storms have caused some problems. Utility officials say more than 12,000 PSO customers lost power overnight. That was at the height of the storm. Crews worked throughout the day and power has been restored.
The storms are also blamed for a couple of fires overnight. That includes a house fire at 3700 East 37th Place. The homeowner woke up to smoke in the house. Everyone got out okay. No one was hurt.
And another fire shortly after midnight in the 1500 block of North Vandalia was caused by a downed power line. Again damage was minimal and no injuries are reported.
