OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Governor Henry raised the state's Homeland Security Threat Level Thursday after a terrorist plot was disclosed in Britain.
The threat level was raised from elevated, or yellow, to high, or orange, for aviation, specifically domestic flights at Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma City and Tulsa International Airport.
Henry says he's been in direct consultation with Oklahoma Homeland Security Director Kerry Pettingill, as well as federal Homeland Security officials. He says Oklahomans will have to be patient as the airport security personnel do their jobs to ensure public safety.
British authorities arrested 21 extremists accused of plotting to destroy passenger aircraft flying from the United Kingdom to the United States.
