BRISTOW, Okla. (AP) -- A woman has asked a judge to dismiss an arrest warrant for her that was issued after she allegedly fled from police to avoid testifying against former Creek County Judge Donald Thompson.
Angela McClanahan claims that special prosecutor Richard Smothermon knew she couldn't appear in court on June 19th. That's the day witnesses were told to show up for Thompson's indecent exposure trial.
McClanahan says she originally was told to appear on June 12th. The date was changed without her consent to June 19th, when she was scheduled to undergo surgery.
After surgery, her motion states, McClanahan left for Missouri to be with her dying uncle.
Thompson was convicted on four felony indecent exposure counts. He was accused of using a device called a penis pump while presiding over trials.
