NORMAN, Okla. (AP) _ Oklahoma's women's basketball program ranked eighth nationally in average attendance.

Numbers released today by the NCAA indicate an average 7,630 fans attended OU home games. It's the highest ranking in program history and the sixth consecutive season OU has ranked in the top 20.

OU also ranked second in the largest average increase from the previous year. The Sooners averaged 5,695 fans during the 2004-2005 season.

In all games, the Sooners played in front of 231,564 fans. That's the fifth largest total in the country and the best total in the Big 12.

All 13 of OU's regular season home games were attended by 5,000 or more fans -- a program first.
