TULSA, Okla. (AP) -- A brutal heat wave across Oklahoma is now blamed for a third death in the state.
Kevin Rowland with the state medical examiner's office says a Coffeyville, Kansas, man who died at a Tulsa hospital after being found in his yard Monday was a victim of the heat. Rowland says the man's body temperature was 108 degrees.
The deaths of a 76-year-old man in Oklahoma City and a 62-year-old woman in The Village are also blamed on the heat. Rowland says the air condition in the man's home was broken while the air conditioner in the woman's home wasn't turned on.
Officials say another death in Tulsa and one in Krebs may also be heat-related.
