OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) Authorities arrest three teenagers in the shooting death of a 14-year-old boy outside a convenience store on the city's northeast side.
Witnesses say 14-year-old DaWan Gilbreath was shot and killed Sunday after he exited the Happy Foods convenience store.
After a 2-and-a-half-hour standoff Monday, Oklahoma City police arrested 18-year-old Ernest Ogles, 16-year-old Cordarell Ogles and 15-year-old Cornelius Ogles. Police Sergeant Paco Balderrama said the three have been charged with first-degree murder.
No new details about the circumstances surrounding Gilbreath's death were released by police.
The victim's body fell in an empty parking space a few feet from the store's entrance, just a step past a yellow curb at the parking lot's edge.
The boy's aunt says Gilbreath would have been in the eighth grade at Hoover Middle School this fall.
