OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) An Oklahoma Lottery official says that more than $65 million dollars has been generated for education since the lottery began in October.
Ticket sales for the state's fiscal year that ended June 30th totaled $207.29 million. Lottery executive director Jim Scroggins says more than $65 million of that amount will be deposited into the Oklahoma Education Lottery Trust Fund.
He says that in the lottery's first 262 days of sales, it effectively raised $248,091 per day for education.
Scroggins says the $65 million goal was ambitious and that he's proud that the lottery reached that goal.
