Ten kids have died already this summer after they were left inside a hot vehicle. Three of those were in Oklahoma.

Northeastern Oklahoma has seen a couple close calls already this week.

News on 6 anchor Terry Hood says it seems almost impossible that someone could forget, and leave their kids in a hot car. Still, it happens every year.

So far this week, a 3-year-old passed out in the heat, as his mother went shopping at the Muskogee Wal-Mart. And a baby had to be rescued at a doctor's office in Tulsa, as the parents went inside for an appointment.

State Representative Fred Perry invented a "Remember" placards to help parents realize when they have precious cargo on board. The signs are the color of caution and Perry hopes it's enough to catch a parent's eye and avoid a tragic accident.

It's similar to a device designed by Sapulpa's Terry and Laurie Boyne. [pictured] Parents can hook the "Baby Bee Safe" clip on an empty car seat, and when a baby goes in, the clip goes on a parent's key chain. They say it's too big to miss.

Mary Beth Ogle with the Safe Kids Coalition says alarm technology to alert parents should be there, but it's not available on cars. "And you think, my gosh, they notify us when our keys are in and when our lights are on. Surely they can tell us when a child is in the seat."
