DENVER (AP) _ Stillwater, Oklahoma, native Matt Holliday of the Colorado Rockies is named to the National League All-Star team.
Houston Astros manager Phil Garner picked Holliday Sunday as a reserve outfielder for the NL team.
Holliday is third in the NL in hitting with a 345 batting average and leads the league with 107 hits and 28 doubles.
With 15 home runs and 55 RBIs, the 26-year-old also leads the majors in extra-base hits with 45 and total bases with 183.
He's been the offensive catalyst for the Rockies' turnaround from their dismal 2005 season.
Holliday is the son of former Oklahoma State baseball coach Tom Holliday.
