Group Offers Personalized Bricks On State Capitol Plaza

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Oklahomans wanting to leave their mark can now purchase a brick to be personalized and placed on the south plaza at the state Capitol.

The nonprofit Friends of the Capitol group is offering the 15-inch square blocks for a $300 tax-deductible gift. Visitors will be able to look up a biography and photos linked to each brick by using touch screens that will be placed inside the Capitol this year.

About 650 bricks have already been sold.

Proceeds go to the Friends of the Capitol group, which raises private funds to maintain and enhance the Capitol grounds and its works of art.
