A drive-by shooting in the 5600 block of North Garrison Court leaves a 4-year-old Tulsa boy in critical condition.

News on 6 anchor Tami Marler says Junior Phillips was in surgery Monday evening to repair trauma to his abdomen. His grandmother was shot in the hand. She lives in a house with her daughters and no one knows why the pair were targeted.

“My aunt and my little cousin had been shot and her house had got shot up.” Ashley Brown couldn't believe when she got the call that her family members had been shot. She says it's enough to make her want to keep her own children locked inside. "I mean 'cause it's ridiculous. It's what, five o'clock? Kids can't come out and play in they own yard, in the broad daylight? It's crazy."

Lisa Brown was holding her 4 year-old grandson Junior Phillips inside the house, when Tulsa Police say four people in a black, 1999 Oldsmobile Bravada drove by. Tulsa Police Captain Steve Bayles: "Had driven by the house once and then had slowly driven by again, firing several rounds in the direction of the house." Lisa was hit in the hand, Junior in the stomach.

Detectives from the major crimes unit combed the scene looking for clues, while officers questioned a group of young men who witnessed the shooting.

Kathy Brown: "These just good people up in here. You know they go to work and come home. Go to church. You know they don't bother nobody. So I don't know why this would happen, but they gonna find out." Family members say they have no idea why the women who live here would be somebody's targets. But they do have a message for whoever took shots at this house. "As a parent or whoever. If you have children that are doing something like this, at least talk to them."

Kathy Brown says her sister is a hardworking woman who loves her children and her grandchildren. She says there was no reason in the world anyone would want to hurt her. “This whole thing is outrageous. You know you go to work and you come home and you don't expect things like this to happen."

Witnesses say there were several people in Brown's yard when the Bravada drove by and they scattered when the shots were fired.
