TULSA, Okla. (AP) -- Students who attend the University of Central Oklahoma and Oral Roberts University win preliminary competitions on the second night of the Miss Oklahoma pageant at ORU.

Miss Tulsa Deidra Hartshorn won both the talent award and the newcomer talent award last night with her performance of the song "For Once In My Life." She will received $1,500 in scholarships for winning both competitions.

The 20-year-old from Hamburg, Arkansas, is a sophomore psychology major at ORU. On Tuesday, during the pageant's first night of preliminary competition, she won the swimsuit competition and a 500 dollar scholarship.

Wednesday night, the swimsuit competition winner was Miss Oklahoma State Fair Lauren Nelson. Nelson will receive a $200 scholarship. She is from Lawton and is a 19-year-old sophomore musical theater major at UCO.
