TULSA, Okla. (AP) -- Proud fathers wanting to light up a cigar to mark a new addition to the family in northeastern Oklahoma could be more likely to get an invitation to a smoking cessation program than a slap on the back.
The Tulsa Hospital Council and Tulsa Medical Society announced Wednesday that tobacco-free rules will apply inside, outside and on the campuses of 25 hospitals and clinics in northeastern Oklahoma starting November 16th. The change applies to employees, patients and visitors.
The ban covers 12 hospitals and clinics in Tulsa, plus facilities in Bartlesville, Claremore, Owasso and Sapulpa.
