A woman shot by a Tulsa County Sheriff's deputy is in serious condition.
The deputies were at a Tulsa apartment complex near 61st and Peoria on an unrelated call. They heard an argument, then gunshots. Witnesses told deputies the shooter took off in a truck. They tried to stop it, but someone inside the truck opened fire.
Tulsa County Sheriff’s Sgt. Willie Lewis: "The deputies felt they were firing at them. They commanded them to stop and shots were fired so they returned fire."
20-year-old Ashley Barr was shot in the neck. She and a male passenger made it to another apartment complex a few blocks away. A weapon was recovered at the scene.
The deputy who shot Barr is on administrative leave, pending the outcome of an investigation.
