MIDWEST CITY (AP) -- The FBI is identifying the man who was shot while trying to rob a credit union in Midwest City as 27-year-old Aaron Tyrone Kennedy.
Investigators say Kennedy was shot in the chest by an off-duty Midwest City police officer who was working as a security guard. He's hospitalized in critical condition.
Police Chief Brandon Clabes says Kennedy was wearing a mask and carrying a gun when he walked into the Credit Union Service Center and was confronted by the officer. The officer's name hasn't been released but Clabes says he's been assigned to administrative duties while the shooting is investigated.
A 71-year-old woman who was hit in the right knee by the gunfire is expected to recover. Her name also hasn't been released.
