WOODWARD, Okla. (AP) -- A woman accused of killing her missing son remains in the Woodward County Jail on $250,000 bail after her request for a lower bond was denied.
Katherine Pollard is charged with first-degree murder in the disappearance of 6-year-old Logan Tucker. Pollard's attorney had asked that bail be reduced to $10,000 or less.
The boy hasn't been seen since June 2002 and investigators are currently searching the Woodward County Landfill for his body.
Undersheriff Monty Clem testified during the hearing that a man told authorities he picked up a suitcase across the street from Pollard's home in 2002 that weighed 40 to 50 pounds and had a strange odor. Clem says the man described the suitcase as wrapped in plastic and tied with a rope and says plastic and rope was found in Pollard's car.
Prosecutors also say they have a videotape in which Pollard talks about leaving the US for Canada and saying she was the last person with Logan when he was alive.
Pollard is to return to court May 23rd for a preliminary hearing.
