MUSKOGEE, Okla. (AP) -- A bill unanimously passed by the state Senate would allow citizen lake committees to be created for US Army Corps of Engineer lakes in Oklahoma.
The lakes under the corps' jurisdiction include Eufaula, Fort Gibson, Tenkiller and Robert S. Kerr.
The measure had died earlier during the current legislative session but was revived as part of another bill. Now the state House must reconsider the bill with the Senate amendments. If it passes the House without further amendments, it would have to be signed by Governor Brad Henry to become law.
