A national tragedy was remembered Wednesday in Tulsa. Organizers of the Tulsa Race Riot Memorial Museum visited with the city leaders to discuss a Race Riot Memorial.
The National Parks Service just completed a study about the Tulsa Race Riot and presented their findings to Congressman John Sulllivan at the meeting.
The Park Service says it wants to help Tulsa remember the tragedy of those riots. Greg Kendricks with the National Parks Service: "from a National Park Service perspective were a nationally significant event. And, it exemplifies that period that first three decades of the 20th Century where there was tremendous inter racial strife and conflict throughout the country."
The Tulsa Race Riot Memorial Museum is looking for federal money for a permanent memorial. The National Park Service says they're willing to help find it.
