A Tulsa Police plan to fight crime is expected on Tulsa Mayor Kathy Taylor's desk today.

She met with the police department’s top brass over the weekend after three new homicides in Tulsa last weekend.

The violence has put the new mayor to the test. Taylor asked police to deliver ideas on targeting violent crime, but she says the responsibility lies with more than law enforcement.

Kathy Taylor: "It's parks and recreation, it is our churches it's our schools, it is our individual citizens who will call the police if they witness a crime, it is citizens who will mentor children so they know they have alternatives to crime."

A plan to fight crime was a major part of Taylor's campaign.

Still listed on her web site, it includes better technology for officers on the street, more police presence in trouble spots and starting a gang resistance program endorsed by mayors across the country.
