Another double homicide, this time in Creek County.
One person was found dead in a mobile home fire, another was found shot to death directly across the street. Creek County investigators believe the homicides are related.
It happened Friday night, in area north of Bristow just off state highway 48. Creek County investigators have called on the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, the Medical Examiner, and the state fire marshall to help them get to the bottom of this case.
We took Sky News 6 up Saturday afternoon to get a look at the still-smoldering rubble. This is all that's left of a Creek County mobile home. The Bristow Fire Department tells me the home was engulfed in flames, when they arrived on scene Friday night around 8:30 PM. It burned clear to the ground and fire investigators believe this fire was intentionally set. 37 year-old Cassandra Morris was found dead inside.
The Creek County Sheriff's Office says across the street from this scene another body was found. Investigators believe a neighbor, Kenneth Taylor, might have heard something outside of his home. They think he went to check out the noise, and that's when he was shot.
Taylor was a 17-year veteran of the Bristow Fire Department.
