Hispanic community holds a peaceful demonstration

Christian pastors and Catholic priests, along with members of the Hispanic community held a peaceful demonstration Sunday in Tulsa against proposed immigration legislation.

Several hundred people carried signs and waved flags at 41st and Yale. They say they're not looking for a handout, just the opportunities that only America can offer.

Hector Siliet: "we are here because we want to be part of the country, become an American also. I want awareness to be brought that these are just people who want to work, like all Americans before them, whether they came by choice or by slavery, that we all deserve a chance to work and to be free."

The US Senate's top Republican says he wants a full Senate vote this week on an immigration bill. Bill Frist says he thinks the final version will include ways for illegal aliens to eventually get legal status.
