A Tulsa woman is missing this morning, and her three children are desperate for answers. She told her oldest daughter she was going out on Valentine's night and would be back in a few minutes. She never returned.
News On 6 crime reporter Lori Fullbright looks into this mysterious disappearance.
Tatiana Scott is doing the things her mother used to do, like taking care of her brother and helping her little sister with homework. They haven't seen their mother in six weeks and while their hearts are in limbo, their lives must go on. "Just trying to do what I can do when I can. Growing up a lot in the past two months, almost two months, basically."
Sheila Scott worked at Avis and was taking classes at TCC to become a paralegal. She'd told Tatiana they'd start working on her college financial aid papers the next day. That was February 14th, Sheila vanished without a trace.
No one has seen her or her vehicle, a maroon 1997 Ford Expedition with Oklahoma tag 728-ZRJ. "Just waiting and hoping and wishing. We want answers; there are lots of unanswered questions. It's hard not knowing what she's doing, if she can do anything. We need closure; it's been a long couple of months."
Tatiana is a senior at Booker-T Washington and works at a video store; she plans to go to law school. While she tries to take it one day at a time, it's hard for her not to think ahead to prom and graduation without her mother. Hope is all she has left. "I feel she's alive, I'm hoping she's a live. Everyone says you get that feeling and I don't have it, so I'm hoping she's alive."
Tulsa Police also grow more worried with each passing day. They need fresh leads to solve this mystery and bring a measure of relief to children who are living a very grown-up nightmare.
Tatiana says she races to answer every phone call. She has even followed cars when she thinks she sees someone who looks like her mother.
Anyone with information about Sheila can call Crime Stoppers at 596-COPS. You can remain anonymous, and could earn a cash reward.
