TWIN OAKS, Okla. (AP) _ Preliminary information suggests that damage this weekend in eastern Oklahoma and northwestern Arkansas was caused by more than one tornado.
The storm began southwest of Tulsa and proceeded to the northeast, where it dropped a tornado about 10 miles west of Peggs in Cherokee County.
At least eight people were injured in the Twin Oaks area, with at least 36 homes destroyed and 31 more damaged.
The most severe damage was found near Centerton, Ark. Preliminary data suggest the tornado was an F-3 on the Fujita scale at that point with winds in excess of 158 miles per hour.
