OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) Bills pending in the state Legislature intended to crack down on illegal immigrants have Latinos in Oklahoma worried and upset.

A bill by Representative Kevin Calvey would require state and local government workers to report suspected illegal immigrants. And a bill by Representative Randy Terrill would deny social services to the immigrants and overturn previous legislation allowing immigrants living in Oklahoma to pay in-state tuition at colleges and universities.

Latino support groups call the bills malicious and an attempt by politicians to promote themselves in an election year.
