JAY, Okla. (AP) -- The owner of an emu is reunited with the bird after it causes some headaches in Delaware County.

The large, flightless bird had been sitting on a nest full of eggs when its owner told authorities it became agitated and ran off. A nearby resident called sheriff's deputies to report the bird had attacked the family dog.

The owner gave deputies permission to shoot the bird, but officials say the owner and bird were reunited safely.
