MIDWEST CITY (AP) -- Midwest City officials say a family is violating a city ordinance by owning two bull terrier dogs. The city passed an ordinance in 1987 that bans the breed as a potential hazard to the public.
Carol and Jerry Stuckey say their two bull terriers are not dangerous.
They are seeking an injunction that would prevent the city from taking the animals away. They also are pursuing a legal ruling that the ordinance is unconstitutional.
Midwest City Attorney Katherine Bolles says the dogs will be seized if they are spotted in public, but that the city is not authorized to go into the couple's home or fenced back yard to take them.
