ADA, Okla. (AP) -- East Central University in Ada has signed accords with schools in Russia and Ukraine that will allow students to study abroad without paying higher tuition rates.
ECU made the agreements with Kiev National University of Linguistics in Kiev, Ukraine, and State University of Management in Moscow.
ECU President Richard Rafes says he would like to send five to 10 students abroad during the program's early stages. He says several Russian students have inquired about attending East Central.
Students from ECU participating in the program will pay their school's tuition, fees and housing costs, with travel expenses being the only additional costs.
Courses at the schools in Russia and Ukraine will be taught in English, although its recommended that students attending classes at the Moscow school have some knowledge of Russian.
The agreements also will allow for professors from East Central to teach at the schools in Ukraine or Russia and for professors from those schools to teach at ECU.
