A lot of beautiful old trees have been lost to the ice storm. But, one tree in which Tulsa has its roots has survived the storm. The Council Oak Tree is located at 18th and Cheyenne.
The tree is considered the birthplace of Tulsa. It is where the Muscogee-Creek Nation held its first tribal meeting in 1836 after being forcibly removed from Alabama.
