We're just one day away from Super Tuesday and the number of Democratic candidates is slowly dwindling. Though there are 14 democratic candidates on the ballot, only five are still campaigning. The other nine candidates had put their names on the ballot back in December but have since dropped out.
Registered Republicans can also vote during Super Tuesday. You can vote on the county or city question and there are two republican candidates on the ballot, including the president.
Oklahoma County Election Board Secretary Doug Sanderson said it's important for voters to come prepared.
“Be prepared before you go to the polling place,” said Sanderson. “Make sure you have identification with you and… I think you should educate yourself with what's on the ballot.”
Based on your registration you'll be provided the proper ballot. Oklahoma County residents will have two questions, which presidential candidate you want and a county question. Not every county provides a question, however you may be provided a separate ballot for a city question. Sanderson said if you're a registered independent you can vote in the democratic primary.
“If you're an independent, you'll be asked would you like the democratic ballot?” said Sanderson. “If you say yes, you'll get the democratic ballot which would have the party candidates on there, as well as the county question.”
If you have questions about your ballot, you can get more information by going online.
“Now when they're posted anybody in the whole state of Oklahoma can go online and review what will be on the ballot when we go in to vote,” said Sanderson.
Polling locations around the state will open their doors starting at 7 a.m. Tuesday morning.
