The Rogers County Election Board is taking additional steps to keep voters and poll workers healthy ahead of Election Day.

Poll workers will receive a bag full of items such as masks, gloves, hand sanitizer and eye protection.

“We have tried to cover every base that we have,” said Julie Dermody, Rogers County Election Board Secretary. “The nice thing about it is that a lot of this stuff will be able to be used in August and hopefully on into November.”

Steps will also be taken to keep voters healthy. Voting machines will be sanitized after each use. There will also be two people who utilize sanitizer guns at the different polling locations. Masks will not be required to vote but additional masks will be provided to voters if they want one.

Dermody said she filled all of her spots for poll workers in the county and all locations will remain open.

Early voting begins Thursday in Rogers County and Election Day is Tuesday.
