Starting July 20, Walmart and Sam's Club will now require customers to wear a face mask to enter the store.
The retail giant calls the move a simple step to help decrease the spread of COVID-19.
To help enforce their new rule, the company said they’ve created a new health ambassador position to their stores.
This person will be wearing a black polo, and their job is to help enforce the mask rule at the front of the store.
The company said associates are trained on how to accommodate people who can't wear masks for medical reasons.
Another change Walmart is making is all of its stores will now have one single entrance. The same goes for Sam’s Clubs across the country.
Associates will remind members of the new mask mandate and will hand out masks to members who do not have one.
Other retailers such as Target, Walgreens and Lowe's said they will soon be requiring masks for all of their locations.
