Gathering Place officials have announced new Virtual Dog Play Wednesday events presented by AARP Oklahoma starting in September. On Wednesday, September 16 the Gathering Place Facebook page will begin streaming new “chomp-etitions,” good-dogie games and backyard “bark-tivities” every third Wednesday of the month.

The first Virtual Dog Play Wednesday event will kick-off football season with a Sports “Fur-natic” Tailgate and officials say dog owners are encouraged to share a photo of their pet’s best game-day look on social media using #DogPlayWednesday to enter for a chance to win a tailgate prize.

“Despite the challenges of social distance, we are thankful to AARP Oklahoma for their sponsorship in allowing us to continue providing this ‘pawsome’ tradition virtually,” said Tony Moore, Executive Director at Gathering Place.

Sean Voskuhl, AARP Oklahoma state director said “New this year, we’re inviting guests to join the Fraud Watch Network. It seems appropriate, on Dog Play Wednesdays, to offer free fraud prevention resources to teach people how to become ‘fraud watchdogs’ so they can spot a scam and stop a scam.”
