Tulsa’s Downtown Coordinating Council is releasing a plan to make improvements at the Center of the Universe and the Boston Avenue pedestrian bridge.

The Downtown Coordinating Council’s executive director pointed out that the Center of the Universe is a big tourist attraction, and he said it needs major improvements to match the busy space.

That’s why the council unveiled its vision for more than $2.3 million in improvements to the Center of the Universe and the pedestrian bridge and plaza.

The upgrades would include new sidewalks, updated planter beds, and trees and new lighting.

The council said it is trying to figure out where the money will come from, but they said an anonymous $1million gift has been made to help pay for the project.
