Hundreds Hold Parade Ahead Of Grove WWII Veteran’s 102nd Birthday

Hundreds showed up to wish a World War II veteran in Grove a happy birthday.

Clarence Oesterich is getting ready to celebrate his 102nd birthday and on Tuesday, the Patriot Guard Riders threw him a birthday parade.

Oesterich sat at the front of the parade in a Model T, like he used to ride in as a kid. Dozens of cars, motorcycles and people waving flags followed behind him.

“It’s wonderful to see them and it’s worthwhile to have a little parade once in a while,” Oesterich said.

His 102nd birthday is on October 25.
