After months of outreach, research and door to door meetings the 2020 U.S. Census counting period has finally come to a close.

As of 11:59 p.m. Hawaii standard time on Thursday night, Americans could no longer register for the census.

On Thursday the City of Tulsa held outreach events as a final push to areas of town with low response rates.

Kyle Ofori, the Director of Community Partnerships with the City of Tulsa said, "A lot of folks have either misconceptions about what the Census is about or they just don't know why it's so important. But it's really an investment in our community for the next ten years."

One of the events was held at the Western Pines Apartments, the event included food trucks giving out free food.
