12 Dogs, Handlers Receive 'Live Find' Certification

Several urban search and rescue K9 teams are now better prepared for missions after a day of certification.

Over the weekend, 12 dogs and their partners from Oklahoma and Kansas earned their "Live Find" certifications.

According to the handlers, it is an honor to work with dogs who have such an impact on the surrounding area.

Roger Fourkiller from Oklahoma Urban Search and Rescue said, "Well that's what everyone is here for we're here to help everyone all the other states around us are here to help us so as soon as it's ready we're ready to go and they'll do the same for us"

The K9 units have been on missions to Louisiana three times already this year.
